The Orange County Collaborative

Initiative to expand foster care in the Orange County area

 

A foster placement is sometimes the best option for a child, and maintaining ties to the home community can maximize the benefits and minimize the disruption and stress of the intervention.  Too often, children who are placed in foster care lose not only the familiarity of the home environment, but also lose the familiarity of the community in which they are living.  For this reason, we seek to expand the network of families in the Orange County are who are willing to take on the challenges and rewards are caring for our children.    

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Orange County Collaborative is a group of organizations that has forged an alliance to strengthen our community’s ability to support children and families.  Members include:

¨ Orange County Guardian Ad Litum

¨ Communities in Schools

¨ Community Backyard

 

 

Mission:

The Orange Collaborative will ensure that children with emotional and behavioral challenges have access to high quality, community based services that strengthens families and keeps children in their home community.

 

 

The Collaborative has identified expanding foster care families in our community as its top priority for this year.
