Vocteer

Support Groups

Vocteer matches students from UNC’s Rehabilitation Counseling program with people recovering from mental illness who are interested in spending time volunteering together.  Matches work together and gain valuable job skills.

MHA/OC sponsors several peer support groups facilitated by trained volunteers.   These groups are free and open to the public.  Please note that MHA/OC support groups are not clinical therapy groups. They are self-help support groups facilitated by volunteers, and are meant to be an adjunct to professional treatment.

The Community Backyard

 

The Community Backyard works in Orange and Chatham Counties to ensure that youth with mental health and substance abuse needs have access to high quality services right here in their own backyards.
